Course Synopsis:
This course focuses on essential understanding and knowledge of principles, concepts and technique for effective project management. The course begins with introductory section explaining various definitions of contracts and general principles of the contract law. Students will be exposed with various types of procurement systems and contracts. Then the Project Procurement Management Knowledge Area processes are presented : Plan Procurement, Conduct procurements, Administer/Monitor Procurements and Close Procurements. The process in Project Procurement Management are initiated early in the project with a procurement management plan and are ongoing throughout the life of the project At the end of this course, students will be equipped with the skills and necessary knowledge in assessing conflicts and remedies for contract breach as well as contractual implications.

CO1: Demonstrate the fundamental concepts of procurement and law of the contracts.
CO2: Explain project procurement process in order to select the best procurement practice.
CO3: Identify the various dispute resolution method in projects.
